I have a special video interview to share today that we filmed on a high jungle plateau in Peru. But first, a little backstory.
Twenty two years ago, a clinically trained physician from France, Dr. Jacques Mabit, opened up a remote healing facility in the Amazon known as Takiwasi. Employing a variety of shamans, the center specializes in treating drug addiction using natural medicines and spiritual disciplines from the surrounding rain forest.
Recently, they have gained international recognition because of their startling 70% success rate in fully rehabilitating cocaine and heroin addicts who are willing to undergo their full 3 month treatment period.
But the healing protocol is no walk in the park.
The standard treatment at Takiwasi includes isolation in the jungle, extensive work with the master plants (including ayahuasca), a very rigid diet, and zero access to external stimuli such as phones, computers, books, etc.
(Sound familiar? We used a very similar approach in the Sacred Science documentary.)
Jacques believes that in order to effectively recover from any type of addiction, one needs “to find clear answers in their existential searches for identity,” and that those answers will lead to abandoning the use of harmful substances.
In the video below, you will see that the clear answers Jacques is referring to usually come in the form of a spiritual opening – and that there are three doorways to truth that can be accessed for guidance. His words carry an urgency that should resonate with all seekers; beginner and expert alike.

Beautiful straight powerful and inspiring!
this is amazing
Such humility and wisdom! He embodies the ascension from the 3rd dimensional world to the 5th dimensional world. Thank you.
Listening to Dr Mabit has reawoken dreams of my early life and also memory of times I have experienced peeking between the veils of realities and without drugs. Is there more I can read? I am 66 and without funds to travel so I trust reading and ‘being a home study student’ will give me access to completing a life dream of healing ancestral memory and bringing something into this world that has value for my grandchildren. Like many, my family do not understand my views on life and so I am now quiet and watch how they live in the world I do not fully releat to. I feel I am one of many who walk as a tribe of misplaced people.
Hi Christine! Your message gave me tingles. Yes, there is more you can read for sure. I would start with Dr. Gabor Mate’s work – particularly his book entitled, “When The Body Says No”. Jacques and Gabor are friends and share many of the same values.
Don’t worry, you will not be alone for long. The whole world is starting to wake up 🙂
Nick
I was once a co-dependent to a man, who was an addict, when I was 24, who refused to receive help. But it so happened that my next advertising client came to be a rehab-facility who needed a campaign, which I sent to him. I did a test there to see what kind of personality I am and realized that I could be prone to addictions, so I almost never drink (unless celebrating with friends on rare special occasions once a year or so) or take any type of drugs that could put me in such a spin. However, this society seems full of addicts who all project their pain onto others.
